Night By Night

I see the leaves fall off the dying trees,

As slight wisps of wind carry them in flight,

I watch the helpless leaf as it tries to cease,

Until it was finally out of my sight,

Outside I stroll along the abandoned sidewalk,

The satisfying air sooths my cool face,

Night falls and the moon starts to talk,

I then begin to slow my pace,

It’s melody fills the starry night,

I hum the tune it sings in the air,

The loneliness overcomes my body like an uneasy light,

Thinking that they wouldn’t care,

I sigh in agony of my broken past,

A yell breaches through my cold dead lips,

Through life I was always masked,

A youthful sin struck me, as I want to take the sips,

To my grave I am home, but alone I am broken,

Night by night, I wonder as these words are spoken.

Looking For Reality

Sulfur creeps its way through the cracks in the ground,

As the bombs bombard to make the sound,

Rusty nails pave their way for you to follow,

You are awoken to this day of mournful sorrow.

The malign way the devil did speak,

To you to surrender for the weak,

To give up what you’ve always wanted,

For this world was always haunted.

Transgressors proscribe their malicious screams,

For being alone you have no dreams,

Then misty fumes of red glisten across your face,

As tears tremble down that you cannot replace.

Searching for what you never thought was there,

With a ruler you never did care,

As deadly voices whisper in shame,

Although no one alive was ever the same.

A war we never thought was real,

The true kiss to seal the deal,

Of death over life, to conquer what wasn’t ours,

Then to waste our most precious hours.

They come to take you away and steal your soul,

But from our ancestors we have to pay the toll,

The day comes as light is shed over this town,

A new hope arises with the sun as your sorrows star to drown.

Our lives we thought were just a tragedy,

We soon learned our peace with a simple remedy,

We are the voice of one among the silent,

We are the leaders who don’t need to be violent.

This generation filled with hate and disgust,

Will rise above with only your trust,

Watch the grins of your puppeteers,

As they tease you with sweet escape in your ears.

Lift your lonely head and utter your thoughts of self-destruction,

You’re just going along with the mass production,

I’ll welcome the virus of obscurity,

To contradict and risk your purity.

A letter we write to our frightful master,

To secure our future and make life happen faster,

No day but today we will fight,

Don’t hold back but join our parade and light the fire to ignite,

Relent to your insecure ways of life,

Regress back to your abandoned strife,

Retreat to your useless haven,

Return to your scalpel and kill the raven.
